DIVORCE / SEPARATE MAINTENANCE

Our attorneys who practice in Divorce / Separate Maintenance

If you or a family member are facing a divorce or other family law matter, dealing with child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, parenting time, or post-divorce issues, you will be treated with respect and your case handled with a sense of urgency at Triplett Woolf Garretson.

Our firm has substantial experience in the area of family law. We understand that family relationships are complex, and that dealing with a family law matter often involves strong emotions and elevated stress on the parties. Usually, this is a time when individuals may be struggling emotionally and financially and overall are not at their best. Like all relationships, each divorce or domestic case is unique to the parties involved. The attorneys and staff here realize how much clients in a family law crisis need our help. We will strive to ease the burdens placed on you by being a strong advocate for your best interest and those of your children.

Once the hard decision has been made to terminate a marriage, Kansas law allows for the filing of a Petition for Divorce, a Petition for Separate Maintenance, or a Petition for Annulment. A divorce will terminate the marriage, a separate maintenance will separate the finances and property of the parties but leave the marriage intact, and an annulment will have the marriage declared void. The Court makes temporary and final orders dividing property and debt and awarding child custody, parenting time, and child support, and sometimes spousal maintenance. Our attorneys possess the skills and knowledge to help you determine what resolution is best for your personal situation.

We realize that issues resolved by a Court in a domestic case can impact you and your family for many years. Therefore, we believe that it is often better for the parties to negotiate an agreeable resolution than to have the Court resolve the case. Our attorneys have vast experience in structuring favorable property divisions and settlements and amicably resolving child custody and support issues to the satisfaction of our clients, without the necessity of trial. However, if resolution cannot be reached, we are prepared to represent you in court and use our extensive knowledge and trial experience to advocate for your rights and obtain the best results possible.

At TWG, our attorneys will ensure that the resolution of your domestic case is handled in an organized, professional, timely, efficient and cost effective manner. We work hard to protect your rights and achieve the outcome you desire. Contact one of our knowledgeable attorneys today.
