Craig W. Benson


Craig serves as a trusted advisor to individuals, closely held businesses, tax-exempt organizations and corporations to assist them in strategic tax planning, wealth accumulation and retention, business succession planning, facilitating section 1031, like-kind exchanges, the structuring of complex tax transactions, and trust and estate administration. Mr. Benson also provides his clients with comprehensive estate planning services ranging from basic estate plans (e.g. wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advanced directives) to more complex strategies involving wealth transfer and tax minimization, including planned charitable giving.

When the need arises, Mr. Benson also represents clients in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, the Kansas Department of Revenue and in the federal and state courts.

Mr. Benson serves as co-chair of the Wichita Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Probate Committee and is a board member of the Wichita Bar Foundation, a charitable arm of the Wichita Bar Association whose mission is to support educational and charitable programs that promote legal education, the advancement of the legal profession, and appreciation of the Rule of Law.

Mr. Benson is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Kansas and Wyoming, the U.S. Tax Court and the Kansas and Wyoming state courts.
