Paula Langworthy concentrates her practice in civil litigation, contested estate litigation, municipal law, and land use. She joined the firm in March 2006 after graduating with honors from Washburn University School of Law in December 2005. Ms. Langworthy obtained her B.S. in Criminal Justice/Administration of Justice from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma in December 2000. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a paralegal in Salina and also as the Court Services Coordinator for the City of Salina, Kansas Municipal Court. In 2008 and 2009, Ms. Langworthy served as the Co-Editor of the Kansas Bar Association Young Lawyer Section Newsletter, which, during both years, received the American Bar Assciation's 1st place award for Outstanding Newsletter. In 2009, Ms. Langworthy was selected as a recipient of the Kansas Bar Association Pro Bono Certificate and as a Wichita Business Journal 40 Under 40 Honoree.
Areas of Practice:
Ms. Langworthy is a native of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the capital of the Cherokee Nation. She is a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and is actively involved in her American Indian culture. Ms. Langworthy served on the Board of Trustees for the Mid-America All-Indian Center for four years, three of which as Chairperson of the Board. In 2010, Ms. Langworthy was admitted to the Bar of the Courts of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and was vested with all authority necessary to practice in said Courts. Ms. Langworthy and her husband, Kurt, live in Derby with two of their sons. Their oldest son is currently attending Washburn University in Topeka. She is active in her community and church, serving on the Derby Economic Development Board and as Trustee of Pleasantview Baptist Church and serving on the Board of Directors for the Webster Conference Center in Salina, Kansas (operated by the Kansas Nebraska Conference of Southern Baptists). In her spare time, Ms. Langworthy enjoys camping, traveling, reading, and working with the youth group at her church.
